Shoemaker on Monetization

shoemaker-on-monetization

I came across this and thought you’d like it. Jeremy Schoemaker, for those new to SEO and affiliate marketing, hosts the famouse Shoe Money blog. In this short clip Jeremy talks about when you should monetize a site and how to keep spam off your blog or website. I think it’s a must see if you’re interested in bringing traffic and increasing site revenues.

Powerful Backlinks Strategy: The Reciprocal Review Carousel

powerful-backlinks-strategy-the-reciprocal-review-carousel

I found a new link building technique while I visiting EJ Cooksey at MyBlogLog. The concept was originally started by Alex over at HowtoSpoter.com. This is a great web 2.0 link building tactic and can greatly increase your incoming links if you use it.

— copy and paste the Reciprocal Review Carousel and instructions below this line —

Reciprocal Review Carousel idea is based on a few simple yet effective link-building and blogging techniques I have learned:

  • Build value of the blog by creating a helpful link from within content.
  • Provide value to community by doing a review on a blog you personally like.
  • Link to YOUR blog has exact anchor text you want and helps you boost Google Rankings.
  • No more than 30 outbound links from any page to prevent penalties for link farming.
  • Viral effect of the link – as more bloggers participate, link to your blog with YOUR anchor text, coming from quality content post will spread.

Check out how this started (opens in a new window) then come back here and see what has changed on the review list below and you will see how this works immediately.

Here is How to participate:

  • Copy the entire text between the specified lines.
  • Create a post on your site and put at least one paragraph explaining how you joined the Reciprocal Review Carousel.
  • Paste the text you copied into your post.
  • Remove the Bottom Review and At the Top add your own review with a link to a site reviewed, at least 2 sentences about the site and a note – Reviewed by: Your Anchor Text. Link your anchor text to your site.

Here is an example:

Write for Your Visitors, Not Google

write-for-your-visitors-not-google

Text Link AdsAs an SEO professional, it’s not uncommon to have a client call me and tell me that a competitive firm emailed them that their keyword density should be higher and that perhaps they would do well to consider hiring them for SEO copywriting instead. I always remind my clients that we write for two audiences, search engine robots and humans.

It is necessary to consider Google and the other search engines when I’m writing your web site’s content. It is also crucial, if not more so, to write for your visitors. Visitors who don’t convert aren’t worth anything. If a visitor does not make a purchase, fill in their contact information to provide you with a warm lead, join a mailing list, click through on a text or banner link or make a purchase on an affiliate site, your content sucks.

Google ranking can be improved with backlinks instead of writing exclusively for bots.

Review: Web CEO 7.0

review-web-ceo-70

Web CEO 7.0Web CEO 7.0 is a suite of 12 programs that cover all aspects of SEO optimization and website promotion. The company broke new ground when they made the lowest level of Web CEO a free product in 2004, a bold step but one which seems to be paying off. My first introduction to Web CEO was an email that offered me the amazing Free software.

Web CEO is a feature rich application and is backed by a superb team of developers. New updates are constantly available (even for the free version) and response times for technical queries are excellent.

Optimize Your Site:

Find best keywords. The keyword mining software will help you pick out keywords with lowest competition and highest demand, i.e. best from the SEO POV.

Optimize your site for high rankings: the page analyzer built into our SEO software will give you detailed SEO advice in plain English.

Promote Your Site:

Submit your URLs to search engines by using our wise and safe SEO submission software.

Know who links to your site, and to your competition. Web CEO’s link analysis software reports inbound links, and even analyzes their text which is important for SEO.

Find link partners and build link popularity. Any SEO software would be incomplete without a tool for building link popularity.
Manage paid search campaigns. Though not directly related to organic SEO, PPC software is an important Web marketing tool.

Analyze Your Site:

Check your rankings with search engines. Web CEO software allows for tracking your SEO success with an advanced ranking checker and keywords trends.

Track and analyze your visitors, ad campaigns, transactions, revenues, etc. with more than 120 live analytical reports built into our software

Maintain Your Site:

Pinpoint broken links and other errors on your site.

Edit your Web pages in the WYSIWYG mode.

Upload HTML and other files to your server.

Monitor your website to know if it is up or down.

I don’t think any webmaster should be without at least the free edition of Web CEO. If you’re a serious webmaster or site owner, or active in flipping web estate (websites), upgrade or purchase Web CEO 7.0 before leaving this site. It’s must have software and will be money well spent. I can’t imagine pulling the traffic I need to make the income I make without it.

Quality Web Traffic vs Traffic Quantity

quality-web-traffic-vs-traffic-quantity

There are two kinds of traffic: quality traffic and traffic in quanity.

Quantity is easily measured by viewing your site’s unique visitor stats.

Quality is measured as the estimated cost per thousand impressions (CPM) that a site’s publisher can earn from displaying ads to its visitors. The click through ratios (CTR) on ads, the conversion ratios (CVR) on affiliate programs and sale of merchandize from the site’s shopping cart and PayPal buttons all contribute to traffic quality.

Your site needs traffic quantity, but it becomes financially successful through quality traffic. I’d rather have a site with less traffic and strong revenue streams and it sure makes sites easier to resell when they represent a solid return on investment.
